Language is a game that we all play everyday. In a world of constant change, it is important to stay on the ball, abreast of the situation, informed on goings on, invested in societal outcomes. Politics, for short. All of the above being conducted through language, primarily through visual or verbal means. This website focuses on the verbal and written aspects of communication. And if it hasn’t clicked yet that ideas can have multiple ways of being expressed then this website is for you! This site is designed to go through the theory of language use as a tool, and how ‘aggressive’ language is used to persuade us everyday. The purpose of this is to help arm you in the fight of staying informed. If you are already familiar with the theory of language as a tool, I recommend checking out the games and applications pages as ways to improve your understanding of language, expand vocabulary, and see how ‘aggressive’ language is used in everyday settings. Otherwise I'd recommend reading the theory page where the idea of ‘aggressive language’ is explained more thoroughly as well as other core concepts.

This site is formatted primarily in a blog format, so in keeping with the style I think it best for you to understand who I am (this will also come in handy later).

I enjoy indie music, looking and making art, and playing RPGs with friends This project was inspired by the game pronoun palace and gave me the original theme for this research. “How do word games make us better at using language”. Eventually this evolved into “how language itself is a game” and how we are all playing it, and the game aspect became more of a footnote to the overall “language game”, a way to improve at the overall game.

The purpose of this site is to introduce to people the concept of how language is a game and how that game is often being conducted especially in English. The second part of this is to provide some levity from the horrors of knowing language is constantly being used to persuade us one way or another and play some games I personally have enjoyed and have encouraged me to expand my lexicon.
